Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said before the death of the president and his companions was approved by Iran’s state media that there would be no disruption to the country’s governance regardless of what happens to the President.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian have died after the helicopter they were traveling with this Sunday crashed in difficult terrain on their way back from a trip to Azerbaijan.
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told state TV before the death of the president and his companions was approved by Iran’s state media that the people of Iran must not be anxious or worried and that there would be no disruption to the country’s governance regardless of what happens.
Expressing deep sadness and worry for the alarming incident for the president and his companions, he said: “We hope that the Almighty God will bring our President and his companions back to the nation and everyone will pray for the health of this group of hardworking servants.”
The leader of Iran also expressed hope that God will not deprive the country of the blessing of a good president and his companions.
Ayatollah Khamenei then assured Irania people that regardless of what happened, the government will continue its duties.
“The dear people of Iran people can rest assured the officials are busy with their work with much more seriousness and we have given them the necessary recommendations. They should not worry, there will be no disruption in the work of the country.”
“God willing, all the work, including the security of the country and the security of the borders, and matters related to the executive branch, will all be done regularly and as usual,” he also noted.
