The cruel assault that Israel has been waging on Gaza is the result of a long line of illegal practices, and it might ultimately prove to be disastrous and bring about the fall of the apartheid system of “Jewish State.”
Israel’s intentional, mass murder of Palestinians under the guise of “self-defence” would not, in fact, increase its safety or ensure its continued existence. Rather, it will increase unrest and unpredictability, alienate Israel even more, and make it less likely that it can survive over the long run in a largely hostile neighborhood.
It could never be considered that Israel could survive in the Middle East if it didn’t give up its colonial rule and accept regular democratic structures. For a brief period in the early 1990s, Israel appeared to be moving toward a state of some kind of regularity, even if it was still reliant on Washington. It offered mutual cohabitation under advantageous American auspices, drawing the Palestine and Arab governments in the region into a “peace process.”
However, Israel’s colonial heritage shaped its actions at all times. It missed several chances to put a finish to its colonization and coexist peacefully with its neighbors. In the words of the notorious Israeli politician Abba Eban, Israel “never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity.”
It intensified its colonization efforts in the seized Palestinian areas rather than terminating to its occupancy. A twofold system—a superior, dominant for the Jews and an inferior for the Palestinians—has been created as a result of the proliferation of illegal Jewish settlements and settlers on confiscated Palestinian property, have been interconnected through dedicated bypass highways and other development initiatives.
In the land of Palestine, segregation and apartheid was established in addition to the one that was overthrown in South Africa. The nation has moved closer to Nazism in its lack of stability and under the shadow of colonization, codifying Jewish dominance into national legislation and encompassing all of ancient Palestine from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.
Rejecting any attempts at negotiation, they have started engulfing all of ancient Palestine, attempting to drive away the Palestinians by growing the illegal Jewish colony on stolen Palestinian property across the annexed West Bank. Additionally, they abandoned all pretense of ever permitting the Gaza Strip to merge with its Palestinian heartland in an independent Palestinian nation and intensified their blockade on the greatest open-air jail in the entire globe, the Gaza Strip.
Following that arrived the October 7 attack, which served as a harsh wake-up call for Israel, telling it that its imperial initiative is unsustainable and that it is unable to cage 2.3 million individuals in an ‘Insafe box’ and then toss away the secret. Instead, it needs to tackle the main reasons of its dispute with the Palestinian people, which are its rule, besiegement, and dispossession.
