The European Vertigo; Will IRGC Designation Backfire? [Part 1]

Designation of IRGC as a terrorist group would backfire against the perpetrators of the fresh plan.

Because of the security setting that the Ukraine ware has created, latest unrest in Iran, which was started as a protest against Mahsa Amini’s death, has received undue attention in Europe.

As a result, the EU has taken a biased stance and made decisions that are unfounded and based on a flood of misinformation, flawed reasoning, and false information.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran is being targeted by the European Union as “a terrorist organisation.” There would be no justification for such a choice. The IRGC joined Iraqi and Syrian battlefields on formal request from the local governments to support them in their fight against “terrorism” at the same time as thousands of EU citizens were flocking to our area to join “terrorist” organisations across the extreme gamut.

The EU would make a huge error by designating the IRGC as a “terrorist entity,” which Iran could be expected to respond. Such a move would violate international regulations and the United Nations Charter and infringe upon Iranian security.

Such a major confrontation would further erode Europe’s credibility in terms of global stability. It has significant ramifications for European nations’ interests in the region. Consequently, it is crucial that reason predominate within the European institution of foreign policy in order to prevent a new catastrophe.

Iranian foreign policy, both inside and beyond the Middle East, is not predicated on a fleeting, naive evaluation of the situation. Every hostile conduct shall be greeted with a scope-appropriate response.

Tehran has survived the region’s most tumultuous security and diplomatic environment in the past forty years. The region that has been influenced by occupation, extra regional involvement, wars, and significant political revolutions.

IRGC in History

The fact that the nation was able to maintain its position in a volatile political and security environment shows that its policies aren’t subject to pressure from hostile forces.

To force Iran to submit to its will, the US constructed a web of sanctions. As accordance of a purported “maximum pressure campaign” under Donald Trump’s administration, Washington also labelled the IRGC as a “terrorist organisation.” Iran, meanwhile, has consistently shown that it will not be swayed by such frightened-based tactics and belligerence.

Washington’s interventionist efforts in the area not only fell short of expectations, but they also exposed the limitations of its military might and purported capacity for nation-building.

Likewise, Europe appears to be adopting Iran policy that is just as aggressive. The EU’s risk, however, is bound to collapse – and much more so than the American version – for a number of reasons in relation to a crucial component of Iran’s sovereign armed power.

Like every other country in the area, Iran has security concerns in the region. The premise that Tehran is under harsh and unlawful restrictions is the sole element that sets it apart from its peers in this way.
