The "Civilized" Matter More; Ukraine War Sheds Light on Mainstream Media

Mainstream media coverage of the Ukraine war exposes a filthy fact; The European lives matter more than “others”.

Western mainstream media organisations deployed hundreds of journalists to Ukraine to cover yet another bloodbath. The move signals the survival of an old view; The West still have the belief that certain people are much more significant than the rest.

Their openly racist portrayal of Russian merciless assault proves that the misery and casualty of white Catholics is more disturbing. They also believe that the Ukraine conflict deserves more attention and sympathy than the anguish and fatalities of other people in Yemen, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Syria, and elsewhere.

The inevitable implication is that when EU countries with Blond people are the target, tales of tragedy, devotion, valor, and war atrocities fill the lines. When EU/American forces, nevertheless, attack a Muslim country, journalists traveled for the trip as reporters who bragged about the conquering soldiers’ pace, dexterity, and war machine.

In the meantime, they rush towards a catastrophe, failure, and withdrawal, regardless of the cost to the nations. In countries like Iraq and Syria, lines are more important than the lives. This make much more hits in following disastrous events and tragedies.

Obviously enough, in spite of the commitment of reform, these heinous behaviors continue to exist now just as before. Mainstream media creates martyrs of blond girls and blue-eyed guys slaughtered by Russian goons. in another part of the world, the same outlets and TV channels describe trapped people with brown eyes and yellow skins slaughtered by Israeli goons as inevitable and forgettable.

This is the overriding fact, taking more light since the start of Putin’s assault against Ukraine. The lives of Western people caught up in a war count, but the lives of “Others” caught up in a conflict don’t.

Mainstream Media; Heroism vis-à-vis Negligence

Yesterday, an Israeli attack against a region in the vicinity of Damascus claimed two lives among the civilians. This obvious aggression against the territorial integrity of the Syrian sovereignty is inevitable, not because it occurred recurrently in recent years, but because the mainstream media covers it as a worthless piece of news.

Even more abhorrent is a recurring theme in many of Western press, which claims that the murdering of people in Africa or South Asia in a war is a tolerable side effect of the West’s noble plans for “liberation.” From whom? Actually from governments that they prefer to label as authoritarian, suppressive, or dangerous.

In the meantime, Israeli administrations in Palestine receive open arms to massacring Palestinians for whatever purpose. Predictably, in repeated editorials, “mainstream” media will defend, if not praise, the slaughter. They utilize articles to protect their best regional ally, claiming that “terrorists” present an existential threat to the country.

The sad implication of these clichéd explanations is that Palestinian people are not victims. In fact, ethnicity, religion and geography turn people into zealots who must be subject to eviction, imprisonment, suffering, and scars.

Western editorial staff and journalists are ready to ignore or dismiss these realities. The truth is, nevertheless, obvious to any perceptive observer and spectators outside the mainstream media.

“This isn’t a place, with all due respect, like Iraq or Afghanistan, that has seen conflict raging for decades,” said CBS reporter. The remarks are truly telling about the depth of segregation and racism in the mainstream media.

CNN, BBC, CBS, Times, France 24, Deutsche Welle, and Fox News are all parts of the same web of media. What they present to the world attempts to elevate the West and westerners high in human life.
