A report by Al-Jazeera revealed this Saturday that Israeli soldiers have buried dozens of Palestinians by running over them and crushing their tents by bulldozers.
According to a newly-released report by Al-Jazeera, Israeli soldiers have killed dozens of Palestinians outside the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza in the most horrific way by bulldozers running over them and crushing their tents in which they were taking shelter.
“Dozens of displaced, sick and wounded people were buried alive. The occupation [Israeli] bulldozers trampled the tents of the displaced people in the hospital yard and brutally crushed them,” the report said, adding that what the Israeli occupation did was “a horrific crime against citizens, a terrifying massacre and unspeakable scenes.”
As the report also noted, more than 3,000 Palestinians were sheltering on the grounds of the hospital, which has been under siege by the Israeli army for eight days. Describing the report as horrifying, the Gaza health ministry called on the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the Red Cross “to take immediate action to save the lives of those still in the hospital.”
This is not the first time Israeli forces attack hospitals in Gaza. In one of the latest raids to healthcare centers, Israeli forces occupied the Al-Nasr Children’s Hospital in northern Gaza City last week, where they forced the staff to evacuate. This caused five babies to die on incubators as they were left behind and no one was there to take care of them.
Palestinian health staff could find their decomposed bodies no sooner than two weeks later when Emirati journalist Mohammad Balousha was able to visit the hospital when a 7-day-truce temporarily halted the fighting.
Palestine demanded investigation for the report on burying civilians alive
Following Al-Jazeera’s report, Palestinian Health Minister Mai al-Kaila issued a statement this Sunday, demanding an immediate investigation into reports of the Israeli army burying Palestinian civilians alive in the courtyard of the Kamal Adwan Hospital.
“Information and testimonies from citizens, medical crews, and media indicate that the occupation buried living civilians in the Kamal Adwan Hospital courtyard, and that some of them were seen alive before being besieged by the occupation,” the statement said.
Urging an international inquiry into the report, the Palestinian Health Minister noted that “the world should take serious action to uncover the details of this file and not tolerate or remain silent about the information coming from the Gaza Strip.”
Palestinian officials as well as international bodies blame Israel for attacking hospitals, accusing them of deliberately trying to collapse the health system in the bombed and besieged Gaza. “Since the beginning of the war, Israel has been strategically attacking healthcare facilities,” Nebal Farsakh, a spokesperson for Red Crescent, told The New Arab early in November.
More than two months after the breakout of the war in Gaza, well over 20,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks to Gaza, the majority of whom being civilian women and children.
