After a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas started, hundreds of stranded Palestinian residents of Gaza started their journey home. They started packing their things onto carts or vehicle tops and carried their kids and animals on their shoulders.
Since the truce came into effect, the sounds of conflict had been supplanted by the clamor of gridlock and the alarms of ambulances as they made their way past people leaving medical facilities and institutions where they had sought safety.
Israel‘s bombardment on the Gaza have been incessant for over seven weeks.
According to UN estimates, almost half of the 2.4 million people living in the area have had their homes wrecked or ruined, and around 1.7 million of them have been forced to flee their houses.
