The Gazan Ministry of Health has reported that all hospitals in the north are currently entirely offline. In a conversation with reporters yesterday, Ashraf al-Qudra, a spokesman for Gaza’s health service, stated that hospital attendance in the northern part of the territory had reached 190%.
Over 700 individuals are still being held hostage by the Israeli army inside the main hospital in Gaza. Al-Shifa Hospital was attacked and partially damaged by Israel during the past weeks.
Israeli authorities took control of the hospital this past week in order to conduct an underground search for a possible Hamas command center and tunneling system. The claims have been refuted by Hamas.
Based on a report by the World Health Organization, a group of 28 premature infants were transported to Egypt through Rafah Crosspoint to receive medical treatment from the al-Shifa Hospital.
Additionally, according to Al-Qudra, some 120 patients were transferred from the Indonesian Hospital to the Nasser Medical Complex in the southern part of the city.
Within the Indonesian Hospital, almost 400 injured individuals still survive. Furthermore, the hospital is home to around 2,000 people seeking sanctuary in addition to roughly 200 medical personnel. Al-Qudra claimed that the Israeli military has placed everyone within the hospital in a “circle of death” and is pursuing everyone who enters or exits the facility.
The strikes on the Jakarta-funded hospital resulted in a minimum of 12 deaths among the Palestinians and several injuries, according to a statement released by Gaza health ministry on Monday. Israeli tanks are presently stationed all around the hospital.
Dire Hospitals Condition
The World Health Organization stated that the Indonesian Hospital could only offer minimal services. There is an urgent risk to the lives of those who have serious injuries or other medical issues.
Al-Qudra stated that yesterday morning, Israeli raids hit the residence of Gaza’s deputy undersecretary for the health ministry. In the home were fifty-six of his relatives who had been uprooted from various parts of Gaza.
According to the spokeswoman, 17 bodies have been located by rescue crews; the remaining remains are still hidden beneath the debris.
Because of Israeli assaults and a shortage of fuel, healthcare facilities in Gaza and the northern region have experienced blackouts of electricity.
As Israel maintains its bombings and military assaults against the enclave, they have also experienced a severe lack of equipment, water, and necessary medications.
Since October 7, 335 assaults against health facilities in the occupied Palestinian territories have been reported to the WHO. There were 164 assaults in the Gaza Strip and 171 in the West Bank out of the total.
Hospitals have had to undergo forced mass evacuations as a result of these assaults. The outcome also included thousands of deaths and injuries among clients, their friends, and displaced others seeking safety there.
Following the October 7 strikes on Israeli targets by Hamas, Israel began an air and military attack on Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 13,000 Palestinian residents so far. 3,500 women and 5,600 children were among the casualties.
As stated by Israeli officials, throughout their invasion into southern Israel, which resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 people, Hamas and its allies captured about 240 prisoners.
