The Israeli army increased the intensity of its assault of the Gaza Strip, targeting further public service providers like hospitals, schools, and mosques. It takes place only one day after Israel attacked a convoy of ambulances carrying seriously injured victims from al-Shifa Hospital to the border crossing with Egypt at Rafah.
The United Nations organization for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) operates the al-Fakhoora school in the Jabalia refugee camp. Yesterday, an Israeli air strike demolished the school. The Palestinian Health Ministry said that the raid left at least 15 persons dead and 54 wounded.
The administrator of Al-Shifa Hospital anticipates an increase in the total number of fatalities. At the al-Fakhoora school, thousands of civilians who had been displaced by Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip had sought safety.
The reporters were informed by an eyewitness to the incident that a total of four members of one family were slain or wounded in the blast. The witness says they are not involved in any way with the Hamas organization. There were just women and children in the room, according to the anonymous person.
The third significant assault on the Jabalia camp occurred at the school. It happened only few hours after a horrific attack that killed at least 20 individuals at the Osama bin Zaid school, which was providing sanctuary for displaced families in the al-Saftawi neighborhood north of Gaza City.
Al-Nasser Children’s Hospital’s entry in Gaza’s west was also hit in the same rampage, and multiple local reports claimed civilian deaths.
According to a spokesman for the Gazan Health Ministry, there are presently 2,200 persons in Gaza who are thought to be trapped beneath the debris of collapsed structures. Among whom, 1,250 are kids.
Demolish all Signs of Life
Local media said that Israeli soldiers also targeted the solar panels and generators of electricity at Gaza City’s al-Wafa Hospital.
According to a journalist, the explosion caused a large fire in the hospital courtyard, which took several hours for civil defense personnel to put out.
The Israeli military assaulted the entrance of al-Shifa Hospital, as well as the vicinity of al-Quds Hospital and the Indonesian Hospital, the day before. Israeli airstrikes have also targeted solar-paneled residential buildings.
In the meantime, there was additional damage to a water tank in eastern Rafah. It appears to be an additional method of informing people that Israel intends to destroy everything that is essential to the existence.
According to Al-Aqsa TV, which is situated in Gaza, some neighborhoods were supplied by the public water tank. In addition, two mosques in the al-Sabra neighborhood in southern Gaza were attacked by the Israeli army, according to a report from an Anadolu journalist.
This is a component of Israel’s military strategy, according to assistant professor of public policy at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. “There are discussions in Israeli media that the Israeli army will get into phase two of its operations in Gaza starting from next week. This means tactical land operations inside Gaza. So what Israel wants to do before that is to have all the civilians leave to the south,” Tamer Qarmout explained.
According to the Israeli the military announcements, on Saturday between 11:00 and 14:00 GMT, inhabitants of the northern Gaza Strip would be permitted to evacuate south down Salah al-Din Street, the major thoroughfare in Gaza. Concerns over Israeli miscommitment, however, has disrupted the decisions to move in the announced time span.
