Nuh Demolition Campaign; Is India Following Israel’s Track? [part I]

Over 300 Muslim-owned residences and companies were destroyed by officials in Nuh. It is the Haraya’s sole area with a majority of Muslims. The Incident took place in Northern regions of India in the first few days of last month.

Following the riots, Hindu right-wing organizations in Haryana demanded that Muslim enterprises be boycotted and that Hindu-owned companies fire Muslim staff. Conflicts between Hindu and Muslim organizations kicked off in Nuh prior to the demolition effort when a procession organized by the far-right Hindu organization Vishwa Hindu Parishad arrived in the area.

The present condition is unquestionably a result of the offensive speech that the present Hindu nationalist leadership supports.

However, the widespread demolition of Muslim residences and structures in areas of the nation like Nuh, where the community has been for generations, suggests something much more nefarious: a deliberate attempt to obliterate any signs of Muslim existence and legacy in the nation.

India has been cozying up to Israel more and more over the years, led by Indian PM Narendra Modi. And the Hindu right-wing extremists have made it clear that it wants to adopt Israeli strategy against the Palestinians.

They seem to be particularly motivated by Israel’s campaign to deliberately eradicate Palestinian the past, legacies, and civilization from the environment.

They are motivated by the organized destruction of hundreds of Palestinian towns seven decades ago. The ongoing destruction of Palestinian houses in the West Bank and Jerusalem is also a contemporary source of inspiration.

A new shrine dedicated to the Hindu deity Ram has been constructed over the remnants of the ancient Babri mosque in India. The mosque was demolished three decades ago. This is similar to how Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport stands stubbornly on the ruins of Palestinian populations forcibly removed from their houses.

Israeli Example

They presumably want to learn more from Zionism as well. Israeli museums have steadfastly avoided to name Palestinian people or recognise the reality of Palestinians as a separate national population.

Legislation similar to Israel’s that forbids Palestinians from even wailing for the demise of their familial houses and lands or attempting to regain them may be found in India too. This applies to Amendment 40 of the Budget Foundations Law, which makes it unlawful to commemorate the Palestinian Nakba day.

The Jewish Nation-State Law was approved in 201. It declares that Israel is the “nation-state of the Jewish community” and that the “legitimate right of autonomy in the territory of Israel belongs exclusively to the Jewish individuals.”

Laws are applied arbitrarily in modern India, much like in its zionist counterpart. Illegally built structures and the residences and companies of rioters, India police claims, have been attacked.

However, there is considerable proof that the destruction campaigns were almost exclusively directed against Muslims, both in Nuh and other regions. Activists opposed the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which expedites the acquisition of India citizenship for only non-Muslim migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

Since then, the deliberate targeting of Muslim houses in the capital New Delhi in 2020 has been evident. Hindu lynch gangs marched through neighborhoods carrying firearms and petrol bombs while yelling violent religious chants. Their houses are unharmed.

Furthermore, recent school textbooks in India no longer include sections on the nation’s Islamic past. There is little doubt that the state-sponsored erasure of Muslim heritage and existence in India has begun.
