In his Ashura speech on the night of the seventh of Muharram, Hassan Nasrallah spoke about the importance of Jihad al Tabyeen (Arabic: جهاد التبيين)
Jihad al Tabyeen is a term that loosely translates into “jihad of clarification”, reviewing the honourable experiences of the various prophets and saints, who were tortured and persecuted because of their insistence on clarifying the truth and their steadfastness, stressing that this responsibility is quite important.
One of the forms of jihad that Islam advocates is the Jihad of preaching and teaching to rebut false and misleading arguments, fabrications, lies, and distortion, he illustrates.
Nasrallah has further expounded on the role taken by Sayyedah Zainab (PBUH) during and in the aftermath of the battle of Karbala, as she clarified to the public the horrible atrocities and anti-Islam infringements perpetrated by the Umayyads.
Jihad of clarification as conceptualized lately by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic revolution, Ali Khamenei, is to vigorously engage in this front by people from all walks of life especially social media campaigners and religious-cultural activists.
Nasrallah has pointed out that Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) – from the first moment – had been aware of his fate and the fate of his companions and his family, but he had been ready to make these sacrifices to achieve the ultimate goal, which is that Ashura revolution is not an absurd case of enthusiasm, but a regimented project that needs a shred and resolute leadership personality with precise specifications. This character was obviously Sayyedah Zainab (peace be upon her) because she has been the most knowledgeable and insightful, possesses rhetorical skills and a tremendous ability to argue and influence, does not waver despite all the horrific events, and bravely addresses tyrants.
Alive in 14 Centuries
Nasrallah has noted that Sayyedah Zainab (PBUH) has been highly conscious, knowledgeable, insightful, and eloquent as reflected her sermons before the tyrants, whereby she expressively reminds them of her father, Imam Ali (PBUH) and her mother, Fatima (pbuh). She has been entrusted with a great mission and prepared for it since her childhood, as she went out with Imam Hussein to Karbala for a specific goal and to preserve the goals of the revolution.
Imam Al-Hussein (PBUH) has insisted to accompany him – with his women and children – in order to preserve the goals of Ashura and Karbala’s grievances across the nation. She – with all her firmness and steadfastness – played the role of refuting the fabrications, stressing that all sacrifices for the sake of God “I have seen nothing but beauty”.
All the media and military platforms that Yazid employed have failed in face of Husseini blood and Zainabi steadfastness, and in our contemporary time – as Nasrallah confirms – this type of jihad since the onset of the Lebanese’s resistance movement, 40 years ago, was practiced by mujahideen, scholars and social activists to demonstrate the serious Zionist threat by mobilising people; “without their sincere efforts, the resistance would not have triumphed”.
Negligence
Hezbollah leader has pointed out that Khamenei has repeatedly warned against the dangers of negligence, as delaying in confrontation would lead to disasters and adversities for those who fall short – this is the responsibility of each person – in their various positions and their strengths and capabilities.
Hassan Nasrallah has also made it clear that the forces of arrogance and tyranny employ all their financial and military capabilities and hostile policies to serve their diabolical goals. Therefore, the peoples of the region – with their various religions – who are targeted in their beliefs, customs, and values, must rise and confront.
He has revealed that these demonic forces are working to bring about moral decadence and corruption – pointing out that the US embassies have pressured some Gulf governments to include the issue of homosexuality in the school curricula “Huge money – not insignificant – is devoted to this vicious scheme, and to promote atheism to penetrate societies, particularly the youth category. The battle is not a military or economic battle, but a comprehensive battle to wane societies through the dilution of some terminologies”.
Besides, Nasrallah has warned that the moral deviation of generations cannot be remedied but if each of us – early – takes their own responsibility of raising awareness. Hence, it is essential to preclude these schemes and not be lenient in dealing with them.
Eventually, Nasrallah has recalled the tragic Beirut explosion of August, 4th 2020, and the suffering it caused to the citizens, regretting the heinous political exploitation of this incident – as media and political parties have distorted the course of the event to blame the resistance and accuse it of being behind it.
