The opulence in Dubai Ruler and his ex-wife’s life attracted the attentions during the London court hearings for the couple’s custody battle.
The custody fight between Dubai ruler and his ex-wife cast lights on luxurious life of the super-rich Arab monarchy. From expensive stable of horses to a house loaded with jewelry, Sheikh has a lifestyle exclusive to his own.
Late last year, a judge at London High Court issued a directive on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum to pay $733 million. The decision brought an end to long-running al-Maktoum’s custody fight with his Princess Haya over their kids.
The court hearing, by the way, had other takes for the observers and journalists. The opulent lifestyle of Dubai ruler along with his ex-wife proved beyond assessment or perception.
Jordanian princess was queried about the 6.7m-pound payments she provided to four unidentified officers in her security staff throughout the court sessions. The receivers had threatened to make a secret affair with one of the security guards public.
To avert the issue, Haya took funds from the children’s bank deposits. “I was scared and that was the money that was available in that amount,” princess Haya explained in the court. The four men received the money in three parts, 1.12, 2 a, and 1.2 million pounds.
The amount of money in Dubai ruler’s children accounts is revealing about their lifestyle. “I have already recognised that it would have been better if (she) had used her own funds to deal with the blackmailers but I accept that she was in a very difficult position indeed. She would have been desperate for (Mohammed) not to find out,” the judge said in response. The blackmail case revealed only a trivial part of the opulence that the London court hearing revealed.
Dubai Ruler; Houses and Properties
Haya purchased her property in western regions of British capital for over 87.5 million pounds six years ago. Located in the vicinity of Kensington Palace, hosting Britain’s Prince William, the house is now valued almost 100 million pounds.
London court was informed that the refurbishment process alone costed over 14.7 million pounds two years later. She spent 9.3 million pounds on building structures and the rest went to equipment.
The princess also requested a yearly payment of 1 million for renovation lasting for 10 years. Haya also had her ex-husband pay for six staff, and a 223,000-pound-per-year contract with a building maintenance firm.
Princess Haya stated that almost 400 racehorses had run in her name throughout the custody fight. Haya or her children were still the legal owners, and she demanded 75 million pounds for their ownership.
Horses, Leisure and Jewelry
Dubai ruler founded the Godolphin horse racing business with his brother. The prominent horse breeder said the Godolphin horses had only ran in her colors. “It is obvious that the horses were part of Godolphin” the court judge decided explaining that the stable managed and paid for the caring of the horses.
The Emirati royal family had a 631,000-pound summer holiday in Italy after marriage. They also had another huge cost for a resort in Athens exceeding 270.000 Euros.
Dubai ruler approved Haya’s demand for funds to spend two months of the year in her hometown. Another two weeks in the United Kingdom on vacation was part of the grant. Besides, she could use another six weekends on vacations in the two countries.
Jordan’s prince claimed her ex-husband was very kind to her throughout their marriage. The claim prefaced a demand for 52 million pounds in compensation for lost garments and jewelry.
She claimed her haute couture collection was worth over 74 million euros. only the most basic pieces had been restored to her while diamonds, pearls, sapphires, and emeralds were left in the Dubai palace.
Dubai ruler’s lifestyle has turned from mystic to a mythological one following the recent court hearings. Their lavish life didn’t last long, but was haven to thousands of millions of dollars in transaction.
