“The Prime Minister, Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, conducted crucial meetings Friday with some of the prominent political figures, signifying the government’s upmost affinity toward unity in addressing important national and regional problems. These include the sessions that took place in the Prime Minister’s Office: discussions with Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim, Head of the National Wisdom Movement; Mr. Hadi Al-Amiri, Secretary-General of the Badr Organization; and Mr. Mohammed Rikan Al-Halbousi, Head of the Taqaddum Party.”
“This is yet another major high-level discussion conducted by the Prime Minister under the mantle of his unfettered approach toward actively involving political leaders and figures in explaining current developments on events within the region. The Media Office of the Prime Minister indicated in a statement received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA that these discussions have special implications for some issues in Iraq’s national affairs.
In the discussions, the general situation in the country was reviewed, focusing on the need to back up the government program and allow access to core developmental objectives. Therefore, Al-Sudani stressed the importance of unity and enhanced coordination and cooperation between all political forces and blocs during the current phase for lifting security and stability in Iraq.”
Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim, Chairman of the National Wisdom Movement, has pledged to cooperate with the government to reach these objectives. We are in a watershed moment in the history of our country and it is essential that we come together and give full cooperation to the government to achieve positive transformation and development, ” he said.
Mr. Hadi Al-Amiri, Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, echoed this message and reiterated the importance of unified measures to address the issues that the nation is facing. Security and stability in Iraq are of highest importance and we are all going to need to come together to make sure our country keeps moving forward to flourish, he noted.
Mr. Mohammed Rikan Al-Halbousi, the leader, Taqaddum Party, emphasized the need for a single political front. The futures of Iraq once and for all lies in our collective exertion, and we should be fully sure that our action be today a rock upon which a brighter tomorrow shall be built”, he stated.
Discussions also included regional advances, and in particular the context of Syria. The leaders agreed on the need to respect the will of the Syrian people and avoid interference in their internal affairs. The talks highlighted the importance of supporting regional and international efforts to restore stability in Syria, while also calling for decisive international and regional action to halt the violations and crimes committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people.
Moreover, the importance of strengthening the ceasefire treaty in Lebanon was highlighted most explicitly. Prime Minister Al-Sudani highlighted the need for peace and stability in the area saying, “We must act and decide in a way that reflects our commitment to a peaceful and stable Middle East in which the [rights and dignity of all peoples] are respected and protected.
Such meetings are an anticipatory step on the part of the Prime Minister to speak with many political actors, to the effect that the government’s policy actions and programming are integrated and accurate to the multiplicity of views in the country.
