Ikramuddin Kamil has been designated Afghanistan’s representative in Mumbai, according to a fresh claim by the Taliban-run Bakhtar News Agency. Kamil is a post-PhD legal studies scholar at South Asia University in New Delhi, India.
The news outlet cited Afghanistan’s Foreign Department insiders as verifying Kamil’s being appointed, however Indian authorities have not yet provided a formal announcement. Taliban’s diplomatic missions will be managed by the Islamic Emirate’s new interim envoy. Additionally, the new official will speak for Afghan concerns in the Indian city.
According to Bakhtar, Ikramuddin Kamil is presently in Mumbai, performing his diplomatic activities. Kamil’s assignment to the Mumbai embassy was also brought up in a social media post by the Afghanistan’s senior foreign minister official for political issues.
