In Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, Russian President visited the newly elected president of Iran. The visit takes place as worries about the increasing tensions and trade of attacks between Iran and Israel, as well as its extensive network of militias that are allied, evolved in recent weeks. Masoud Pezeshkian, the Iranian president, and Vladimir Putin spoke about the Middle East. According to Russian official media, the meeting took place on Friday on the fringes of a local conference in Ashgabat.
They convened before to the anticipated signature of a strategic cooperation agreement between their two nations. Pezeshkian expressed optimism yesterday that the deal might be completed at the BRICS meeting the following month. Putin extended an invitation to Pezeshkian to attend the October 22–24 summit in Russia.
Putin informed Pezeshkian during their discussion that Tehran and Moscow frequently have “very close” stances on world matters. Russia prioritizes its relations with Tehran, which are progressing rather well, according to Russian president.
Pezeshkian expressed an analogous opinion in the meeting. According to the president of Iran, interactions between Tehran and Moscow are getting stronger and more powerful on a financial and social level every day. Additionally, Pezeshkian discussed Israel’s barbaric bombardment” Lebanon. He went on to say that Israel needs to quit murdering civilians in the area and said that European nations and the United States are supporting its policies. The Israeli army is still bombarding southern Lebanon and has dispatched ground forces there. Israel is said to be at war with Tehran-aligned Hezbollah, a military organization in Lebanon. Likewise, Moscow has denounced Israel in the past for bombing civilian regions like Gaza and Southern Beirut.
Moscow-Tehran ties have improved dramatically after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine over two years ago. Tehran has been charged by the United States for providing Moscow with weaponry to be utilized in Ukraine. Iran has refuted such assertion. Putin declared he intended to establish a new global order for Russia’s partners to oppose Western powers as the summit got underway.
The president of Russia stated that Moscow was in favor of the widest international dialogue on the developing multipolar reality in world order. Russia was willing to talk about it in BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Eurasian Economic Union, according to Putin.
