An assault by Israel on Lebanese north has claimed the lives of a Hamas commander and his family members. Israel’s airstrikes against Hezbollah in Lebanese soils are still ongoing in the southern districts of the capital. According to Hamas, Israeli shelling on Saeed Attallah Ali’s home in the Beddawi camp, close to Tripoli in the north resulted in his death along with his wife and children. From the beginning of the Gaza conflict about a year ago, this was the very first time the region had ever been struck.
Attallah Ali has been recognized as the head of the Qassam Brigades, the military branch of Hamas. In the past few weeks, Israel has struck Hamas leadership in Lebanese soils on many occasions. Many of the organization’s most influential members were slain by the IDF.
According to Hamas, eighteen of its top leaders have died in lss than a month. The attack near the coastal city of Tripoli prompted no swift reaction from the Israeli army. Tel Aviv is currently increasing its strikes on Lebanon after engaging in crossfire battle with Hezbollah for almost a year. Majority of the combat had taken place at the Israel-Lebanon boundary. It happened concurrently with Israel’s conflict with Hamas in Gaza.
The southern neighborhoods of Beirut also heard blasts on Saturday morning. Israel allegedly sent warnings to the Dahiyeh neighborhood’s inhabitants just before the assaults. However, it was unknown whether any of the residents were able to get away. Tel Aviv stated yesterday that it had struck Hezbollah’s southern suburbia center for surveillance purposes.
A Deadly Fortnight
In an airstrike more than a week ago, Israel destroyed a large portion of Hezbollah’s top military management, notably the secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah. The Israeli armed forces declared today that it had attacked Hezbollah members throughout the previous night. It happened within a mosque in Lebanese south, close to the Salah Ghandour Hospital. Israel claimed that Hezbollah utilized the mosque as a command center from which to conduct assaults.
Nine members of the clinical and nurse personnel of the Salah Ghandour Hospital in Bint Jbeil were hurt, the majority of them critically, following an Israeli evacuation order.
Hezbollah claimed its members had engaged Israeli forces in Lebanon’s southern border with Israel. The organization claimed that the fighters had fired a missile close to the border that had struck an Israeli armor vehicle. Additionally, Hezbollah reported that it fired Fadi-1 missiles today toward Ramat David Airbase in Israel, which is located approximately 30 miles from the Lebanese frontier and close to the northern city of Haifa.
More than 2,000 individuals have died as a result of Israeli assaults, according to a Friday statement from the Lebanese Department of Public Health. Although the data pertains to fatalities within a year, the majority of them happened within the last fortnight.
Israel is allegedly targeting people, according to the Lebanese authorities. Beirut referred to the scores of children and women who had died. Attacks on medical personnel and infrastructure have also escalated. Targets included Hezbollah-affiliated rescue personnel, the Lebanese Red Cross, and medical facilities in Lebanon.
