Candidates for Iran’s 14th Presidency had their last round of presidential debate in Tehran this Tuesday and concluded their plans and policies if get elected as president in the June 28 turnout.
According to Iran’s state media, ISNA, the last round of debate among the six candidates for the 14th presidential term was held this Tuesday, and presidential hopefuls summed up their plans and policy approaches if get elected on June 28.
Pezeshkian: “I have come to be a bridge between the government and the young generation in Iran”
In the last debate, Masoud Pezeshkian said he wants to become president to amend the relationship between the government and the people of Iran.
“I have come to end the gap between the government and the people, especially the young generation, I have come to put attention to the environment at the center of development plans in Iran, I have come to put the country on the path of reforming the infrastructure of energy production and consumption and resolve the discontent of people, and I have come to spread independence and respect in the educational environment,” Pezeshkian said.
He also noted that “Iran is a vast country with ethnic, linguistic, religious and cultural diversity, so we should respect all diversity and attract the participation of all Iranians in the administration of the country along with social solidarity and patriotism.”
Qalibaf to Iranians; “You don’t vote for one person; you vote for your future!”
In his concluding remarks in the last debate, Qalibaf mainly addressed Iranians and invited them to turn out on June 28 and vote for the right person. “Dear Iranian people, you are at the moment of making a historical decision and most of you have not yet made a final choice among the candidates. Dear people! You don’t vote for one person, but you decide to determine your own life and future,” he said.
Asserting that it makes a difference who becomes the president of the people, the presidential candidate also noted: “People! You decide to own a home or worry about rent every year. You decide whether inflation goes down or continues increasing. You decide whether the problem of filtering and censorship is solved or remains. You decide if you want your children to be proud of the future of Iran or to regret the progress of other countries.”
Pourmohammadi: “I am a fundamentalist, but I am a reformer based on rationality and wisdom”
Mostafa Pourmohammadi said during his time in the last presidential debate that he is a man coming from the heart of the original discourse of the Islamic Revolution. “I come from the core heart of the Islamic Revolution, which was based on the thoughts of Imam Khomeini peace be upon him, and our dear Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei,” Pourmohammadi said.
Expressing his views on Iran’s economy by focusing on the stock market, Pourmohammadi noted that economic growth in modern economies is measured by the stock market index, so the next president should pay special attention to it. “We must have a special focus on the growth of the economy. I believe that the infrastructure of economic growth and development is production, and everywhere in the world there is an indicator to measure it, which is the stock market,” Pourmohammadi said.
In his concluding remarks, the 64-year-old candidate noted that “prosperity is the right of the people and not the favor of the government, but I say with all my heart that we are headed towards despair. However, we can resolve our problems by wisdom, rationality, and national consensus.”
