The Islamic Resistance if Iraq, an Iraqi military group supported by Tehran, and the Houthi forces are believed to be have conducted a combined military assault to strike four boats in the Israeli port of Haifa. Houthi naval spokesperson claimed that the Houthis had shot drones against two freighters and two cement vessels.
Haifa port was the target of bombardment the day before due to violation with a prohibition against visiting ports in Palestinian coasts. In the Mediterranean Sea, the Houthi movement utilized drones to attack a Shorthorn Express ship, and both attacks had effectively accomplished their objectives, according to Houthi officials.
Israeli media stated that an air defense projectile was fired into the Mediterranean without sounding alarms, resulting in a blast near Haifa before daybreak. The Israeli army confirmed on social media that it intercepted a drone that was making a nocturnal incursion toward the nation from its eastern flank. The announcement made no response on the Houthi accusation.
In a different instance, the British naval defense organization claimed that shortly after sunrise on Sunday, a drone strike in the Red Sea close to Yemen caused devastation to a commercial vessel. However, no casualties were recorded. The incident took place around 65 miles west of the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah, according to the British navy-run service.
A commercial vessel’s captain claims that an unmanned aircraft system struck the ship and caused damage. According to an agency message, none of the crew are believed to be hurt, and the ship is sailing to the next destination.
Houthi Claims, CENTCOM Rejects
The same report investigations are being conducted without naming the perpetrator of the assault. It also alleged that an additional incident was discovered on Sunday close to the port of Nishtun in Yemen, advising sailors to exercise vigilance. After the outbreak of war in Yemen, Houthi Forces supported by Tehran have been attacking ships in and near the Red Sea on a regular basis, claiming to be doing it in support of Palestinian people. The US Central Command described as “categorically false” the claims made by the Houthi forces regarding an assault on a vessel that moored in Israeli waters. Some of the Houthi maritime drones have been downed in the less than a day, according to CENTCOM, which has launched reprisal operations against the militia for its assaults on ships.
Additionally, it stated that the militia had fired three antiship projectiles into the Gulf of Aden; however, no serious harm or casualties were recorded. Top Houthi leaders declared earlier this month that the combined group’s activities in Iraq with the Islamic Resistance will sharpen against any vessel that docks at Israeli harbors reflecting their support for the Palestinian people under the Israeli bombardment in Gaza.
