Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei wrote a letter this Thursday to the young people in the United States, praising them for their support for Palestinians.
In a letter this Thursday addressing the young people the United States, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei asserted that “you are now standing on the right side of history,” referring to their recent mass protests in support for the people of Gaza.
“I am writing this letter to the young people whose awakened conscience has moved them to defend the oppressed women and children of Gaza. You have now formed part of the resistance front, and under the brutal pressure of your government – which openly defends the usurping and ruthless Zionist regime – you have started an honorable struggle,” Iran’s leader noted, addressing the young students in the US who support Palestine in the war with Israel.
In the letter, Khamenei also emphasized that “the greater Resistance Front which shares the same understandings and feelings that you have today, has been engaged in the same struggle for many years in a place far from you. The goal of this struggle is to put an end to the blatant oppression that the brutal Zionist terrorist network has inflicted on the Palestinian nation for many years. After seizing their country, the Zionist regime has subjected them to the harshest of pressures and tortures.”
Palestine is an independent land with a long history. It is a nation comprised of Muslims, Christians, and Jews.
Briefly speaking of the history of the ongoing struggle between Israel and Palestine, Iran’s leader said that “after the World War, the capitalist Zionist network gradually imported several thousand terrorists into this land with the help of the British government. These terrorists attacked cities and villages, murdered tens of thousands of people and pushed out multitudes into neighboring countries. They seized their homes, businesses and farmlands, formed a government in the usurped land of Palestine and called it Israel.”
Expressing Iran’s empathy and solidarity with the young American students who stood for Palestine and supported it in its war with Israel, Khamenei further noted that “the Zionist regime used an iron-fist policy against the defenseless people of Palestine from the very beginning and has, day by day, intensified its brutality, terror and repression in complete disregard of all moral, human and religious values while the United States government and its allies refused to show the slightest actions against war crimes committed by the Zionist regime.”
Iran’s Supreme Leader then assured the young American students that things will soon change in the ways they want. “I want to assure you today that the circumstances are changing. A different fate awaits the important region of West Asia. The people’s conscience has awakened on a global scale, and the truth is coming to light,” he said.
Finally, Khamenei cited life-changing lessons from Quran, Muslims’ holy book, and noted that “the Quran’s lesson for us Muslims and all of humanity is to stand up for that which is right,” advising young American students to become familiar with this holy book.
