The prime minister of Qatar has issued a warning regarding a potential assault on Iranian nuclear installations. According to Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the military operation will completely infect the Persian Gulf’s water resources.
In Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, the pollution may pose a hazard to human life. Iran is on the other end of the Persian Gulf from these dry lands. They are inhabited by almost 18 million individuals and have limited organic water supplies. Desalinated water derived from the open waters is the sole source of drinkable water in the country.
The Persian Gulf would be left with “no water, no fish, and no life” if Iranian nuclear installations were attacked, the prime minister of Qatar said. Donald Trump has recommended to Iran that the two sides begin negotiations. Additionally, Trump has brought back the maximum pressure program on Tehran that he implemented while in office during his first term. The goal of the action is to cut off Tehran from the world market. Washington also intends to cut off Iran’s primary revenue stream, its oil exports.
In order to prevent a military attack on Tehran, Sheikh Mohammed called for a political settlement. According to Doha, the invasion would start a conflict that would engulf the whole Middle East.
The prime minister of Qatar stated that the country will not condone any armed action. In an interview, he declared, “We shall keep working until there is a political settlement.”
Iranian Nuclear Agenda
Iran says it is not looking for nuclear weapons. Tehran will not be pressured into talks, the nation’s supreme leader said a day after US president talked about sending a direct letter to him.
The Arab governments in the region have constructed 15 of the biggest concrete water storage tanks in the entire world. Its backup provision of water will be improved by the action. In summertime, temperatures in the Persian Gulf’s lower reaches 50 degrees Celsius.
The Qatari pm made special reference to his nation, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates in his talks. He said that Doha was closer to certain of Iran’s nuclear installations than Iranian capital. Bushehr, on the Persian Gulf coast, is home to Iran’s sole nuclear-powered facility currently in operation.
Abundant in Gas resources, Qatar is one of the main partners of the United States in the region. The largest US military installation in the region is located there. However, it also keeps up relations with Tehran, with which it holds the biggest recorded gas field in the planet.
Trump pulled the United States out of an agreement between Tehran and key nations during his first term in office. The agreement, commonly referred to as the JCPOA, had imposed stringent restrictions on Iran’s nuclear operations. Tehran received sanctions relief on many important areas in return. In 2018, Trump withdrew from the agreement and reinstated sanctions. Iran responded by breaking its commitments and going much beyond those boundaries.
