Bahrain elevated its regional connectivity and economic integration push by putting Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications together with Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General. The senior officials unified to expedite critical infrastructure development while exploring innovative technology applications to sustain regional development.
Senior officials at the meeting discussed how major land, sea and air connectivity projects would improve trade and transportation within GCC countries. Officials stressed that investing together with knowledge sharing about communications and information technology brings the most value to such collaborations. These initiatives form an essential part in boosting economic cooperation while enabling free movements of people and goods across the Gulf region.
In the course of the talks, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasized the need to embrace frontier technologies, especially artificial intelligence, to speed up digital transformation in various sectors.
