46 individuals have been killed by Pakistani bombings on Afghanistan’s eastern regions. According to a Taliban administration source today, women and kids made up the majority of the victims. Six others were injured in the Pakistani border state of Paktika, according to the Taliban official spokesperson.
The incident was condemned Tuesday by the Taliban administration. The Afghan administration promised revenge while announcing that majority of the victims were migrants from the Waziristan area. The goal of the attacks, Pakistani military sources told the media, had been to eliminate rebels in the region and destroy a military center. As required by law, the sources spoke anonymously.
The spokesman for the Tehreek-e-Taliban of Pakistan (TTP), often known as the Pakistan’s Taliban, said in an announcement that the attacks had killed fifty individuals, notably 27 women and kids.
In addition to being a distinct organization, the TTP is an important supporter of the Afghan Taliban, who took control of the country over three years ago. Regarding the military operation, Pakistan has remained silent. Nevertheless, the Pakistani army stated a day after the attacks that that 13 rebels were slain by army troops in South Waziristan, Pakistan, during an intelligence-guided assault. The district of Waziristan is situated next to the Paktika frontier.
Friction between the two nations will probably increase as a result of the attacks. Islamabad claimed earlier this year that intelligence-guided attacks occurred in Afghanistan’s bordering districts. Over the last 20 years, there have been many extremist assaults in Pakistan. However, in recent period of time, they seem to have increased. The most recent occurred few days ago with the TTP storming a checkpoint in the northwestern regions, killing more than 16 Pakistani troops.
The Taliban has come under fire from Pakistani authorities for failing to take enough steps to stop insurgent operation over the borderline between the two countries. The Taliban regime in Afghanistan disputes the accusation. According to the Taliban, it forbids anybody from attacking any nation.
