In apparent retribution for a strike on a crucial state-run defense business that left five people dead and over twenty injured, Turkey’s Air Force has targeted Kurdish sites in Syria and Iraq.
The Ministry of National Defense stated on Thursday that 47 targets were ruined in Wednesday’s aerial operation, although it did not specify which specific places were struck. According to the report, a variety of procedures were taken to keep civilians safe. Turkish military hit 18 sites in northern Syria and 29 targets in northern Iraq, according to Defense Minister Yasar Guler.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which are supported by the United States, reported Thursday that Turkish airstrikes in Syria killed 12 citizens, especially two children, and injured 25 others. The SDF, which includes Arab combatants and is led by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), has been a key ally of the US-led alliance against ISIS. A fourth of Syria is under its control, including oil reserves and regions where a number 900 US forces are stationed.
In an attack on Wednesday, fighters detonated weapons of mass destruction and opened fire at the airplane and defense company TUSAS, located close to the capital Ankara, which produces and designs military and civilian aircraft, drones, and other defense-related and aerospace equipment. According to the Turkish Defense Ministry, 59 militants were slain in the strikes.

Several hours after Turkish government officials accused the PKK of carrying out the fatal attack at the corporate office of the aerospace and defense corporation Tusaş in Ankara, Turkey’s air force launched attacks against comparable sites in northern Syria and northern Iraq on Wednesday.
