Addressing Iran’s recent missile attack on Israel, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said this Friday that the attack was a legal and legitimate response to Israel’s hostilities against Iran.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei defended Iran’s recent missile attack on Israel and described it as “legal and legitimate”.
“The operation of our armed forces a few nights ago was legal and legitimate,” he said during a Friday prayer sermon in Tehran. What made the speech special was that it was Khamenei’s first Friday sermon in nearly five years. Thousands of worshippers across Iran participated in the ceremony.
Khamenei also noted that the attack was “minimum punishment” for Israeli crimes. Rebuking the US for its full support for Israel, Iran’s Supreme Leader also said that “the reliance of the US and its allies on maintaining the security of the Zionist regime is a cover for the deadly policy of turning the regime into their tool to take over all the resources of the region.”
“This reality makes us understand that every attack on the regime by anyone and every group is a service to the entire region and to the entire humanity,” he added.
