Leaders from over the world and the region responded on Saturday to the news that veteran Hezbollah commander Hassan Nasrallah had died in an Israeli assault. After months of skirmishes and rocket fire trades along the border between the two countries, Nasrallah is certainly among the most influential persons that Israeli military has eliminated. There are already concerns in the region about clashes leading to a bigger regional conflict.
The organization of Hezbollah in Beirut has acknowledged the death of Hassan Nasrallah, one of its founders and leaders. The day before, Israel pounded Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and attacked Nasrallah from using missiles and f-35 aircrafts. According to a group declaration, Nasrallah promised to “continue the holy war against the enemy and in support of Palestine” and that he “has joined his fellow martyrs.”
According to an Israeli armed forces declaration, international rules allowed Nasrallah and other Hezbollah top leaders to be valid targets. Additionally, the army claimed that Nasrallah was responsible for the killings of Israeli soldiers and civilians.
A statement from the IDF claims that Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary-general of Hezbollah for 32 years, killed several Israeli troops and civilians. It also stated that he was organizing thousands of terrorist acts.
“He was in charge of planning and carrying out terrorist actions that killed individuals of different ethnicities all around the world. Nasrallah served as the organization’s primary decision-maker and strategic head.”
Hamas, already at war with Israel in Gaza, issued a statement mourning the loss of Lebanon’s Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. But it also said that his passing will only make the terrorist group’s struggle stronger.
“Offenses and murder by the occupying regime will only strengthen the resolve and perseverance of the resistance in Palestine and Lebanon to go ahead with all their might, courage and dignity on the path of the martyrs …,” Hamas stated in an announcement.
A day after the death of Nasrallah, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged Muslim community to support the Lebanese nation and the valiant Hezbollah. The Muslim population in the world was called upon to use all available resources to support Hezbollah in its fight against the vile regime Israel.
After Israel claimed to have assassinated Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah the day before, France’s foreign ministry confirmed on Saturday that it received knowledge that Nasrallah had passed away. In a statement, the French foreign ministry confirmed that Nasrallah had passed away. In an effort to stop any escalation, the ministry stated that it was in communication with the Lebanese government and France’s regional allies.
