According to the Houthi sources, the group shot down an American surveillance drone over Yemeni soils. The Houthi’s most recent strike has caused maritime traffic through the vital Red Sea to be hampered.
The Yemeni organization has attacked ships connected to Israel on several occasions. According to reports, it was a gesture of support for Palestinian people throughout Israel’s 11-month-long conflict with Gaza.
In a recorded footage, the Houthi’s army spokesperson claimed that air defenses destroyed down the MQ-9 Reaper. The drone was doing aggressive maneuvers when it hovered over Marib. As confirmed by Houthi sources, this is the sixth drone of this kind to be intercepted since the beginning of the hostilities in Palestinian lands.
The American armed forces and espionage services have been flying the cutting-edge UAVs over the country Since last decade. This covers the period of civil conflict that resulted from the Houthis’ rebellion against the former administration in late 2014. MQ-9 Reapers are capable of flying for a full-day and at heights of 50,000 feet.
Following a truce mediated by the UN late last year, the combat has essentially stopped. The Houthi troops will keep up their offensives in favor of the Palestinian people. They are currently fortifying their defenses to fend off ongoing coordinated assaults on Yemen by the United States and the UK.
Following the footage, several US-led attacks were reported close to the town of Ibb in southern Sanaa by the Houthi-run news network Al Masirah.
The American armed forces did not react to reports of bombings or the downing of an unmanned aircraft over Yemen right away. The US army announced its most recent strikes in Yemen two days ago. Washington claimed to have targeted a support truck and a drone flown by the Houthi forces.
The US army said last week that two oil cargo ships were assaulted by the Houthi forces. The targets, in the Red Sea, were “the Panama-flagged Blue Lagoon and the Saudi-flagged Amjad.”
The Houthi armed forces took credit for firing several missiles and drones against the Blue Lagoon. On the other hand, it made no reference to the Saudi tanker. The US army said the Amjad had on board almost two million barrels of oil, but they did not record any deaths.
The oil ship Sounion, flying the flag of Greece, was captured on camera by the Houthi forces and released in late August. Worries of an environmental catastrophe have arisen after the terrorists detonated explosives on board the ship. According to the Yemeni organization, its assaults won’t end until Israel “ceases to murder people in Gaza.”
