While it is certain that Israel will face a harsh retaliation from Iran and Hezbollah for assassinating Fuad Shukr, the Hezbollah commander in Beirut and Ismail Haniyeh, political leader of Hamas in Tehran, speculations over when these attacks will be carried out have sparked increasing fear in Israel.
Following Israel’s assassination of Fuad Shukr, the Hezbollah commander in Lebanon’s capital of Beirut, and Ismail Haniyeh, political leader of Hamas in Iran’s Tehran, People and the government in Israel are in a state of panic over when the retaliatory attacks from Iran and Hezbollah will come.
Both Iran a Hezbollah have vowed harsh retaliation, but none has indicated a timing for the attacks on Israel. This has led to a series of speculations by various news media that so far, have only fueled the already huge fire of fear in Israel.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps said on Saturday that revenge will be “severe and at an appropriate time, place, and manner,” blaming the “terrorist Zionist regime” for Haniyeh’s death.
Likewise, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrullah on Thursday vowed “inevitable retaliation” for the death of Fuad Shukr during an Israeli airstrike on Lebanon last week. Speaking at Shukr’s mass funeral in Beirut, Nasrullah promised that Hezbollah is looking for a “real and fully considered response” in retaliation for Shukr’s death.
To perplex Israelis even more, Nasrullah also warned that Israel “does not know where the retaliation will come from, whether from the north or the south of Palestine, and whether it will be separate from or simultaneous” with Hezbollah operations in other fronts.
Iran will attack on this Monday, US and Israeli officials claimed!
According to the words of three US and Israeli officials speaking to Axios this Sunday, the Iranian attack on Israel in response to the assassination of Hamas political bureau leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran last week is expected to come on Monday,
Based on this assumption, two US officials said that Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of US Central Command, arrived in the Middle East early Sunday morning to help Israel prepare for the imminent attacks.
Israel should expect attacks on August 12, Western intel. say!
Rejecting the idea that Israel should expect an attack as early as this Monday by Iran and Hezbollah, Sky News reported this Sunday that according to the words of Western intelligence sources, there are evidence suggesting that Iran plans to attack Israel on Tisha B’Av, which begins on August 12 and ends on August 13. “Iran’s attack will reportedly be coordinated with Hezbollah,” the report also noted.
On Tisha B’Av is a historical ceremony when Jews lament the destruction of the first and second Temples. During the annual event, there is fasting, mourning and a practice of self-denial.
“There is an emotional and psychological impact in targeting Israel on the holy day of mourning, and the media coverage on the attack would transmit a message to the Islamic world that Israel is vulnerable to destruction as the Jews have historically been,” the report also noted.
