Children in Gaza are in their worst mental and health conditions based on a recent study. PM Justin Trudeau of Canada is one among many who failed to keep promises on Gaza.
It is a black mark on a person’s public reputation to break a pledge to assist youngsters in need. Regardless of their title or position, any other attempts to save face will be covered by the taint.
Justin Trudeau did that to the afflicted kids in Gaza. Kids in Gaza suffer from regular Israeli incursions, deviancy, and a grueling siege for over 15 years.
The dishonest PM of Canada may fail to recall making a written commitment three years ago. But the public clearly remembers that he pledged to stand by and applaud other Canadians who sought to treat Gaza’s injured youngsters there.
Trudeau betrayal extends to the clinics, medics, nurses, and other decent Canadian people who offered to assist Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish. The Canadian Nobel Peace Prize winner launched an effort to bring 100 traumatized and wounded Palestinian children to Canada for the necessary medical treatment.
In a study by Save the Children, it was made clear that the urgency for that treatment is higher than ever. The group discovered that over 80% of kids in Gaza are suffering from anxiety and depression.
The children in Gaza are unable to focus or rest. As victims of what they had no role in, they are overcome with anguish and despair. They fret, observe, and react as they anticipate what is expecting them under the blockade.
There are no better assumptions than increasing number of bombs dropped, bullets fired, drones released, home raids conducted, and lives destroyed and permanently altered. Israeli policy is to prevent anyone from entering or leaving Gaza by using force, intimidation, and threats.
Trudeau; Not Alone
According to the research, the 800,000 kids who live in Gaza wet their beds virtually daily. The losses, from loved ones to places and experiences, that disappeared in a moment reappear in nightmares; a typical trauma. Over 50% of children experience “reactive mutism,” which occurs when shock and stress are followed by retreat and passivity.
Other youngsters have severe physical as well as mental and spiritual trauma. Kids in Gaza live normal lives with disfigured faces and bodies, lost legs, sight, freedom, and ambition.
Save the Children claims that this is an ancient, terrible tale that, with each new invasion, deteriorates gradually. The group, however, failed to study the western media and politician’s busy conscience with the Ukrainian children. For those like Trudeau, assistance is also a political movement.
Dr. Abuelaish is undaunted and resolved to alleviate Palestinian children’s suffering and brutal pressures. The reason is that he and his kids are aware of and have experienced a similar tragedy.
“Please add your name in support of bringing Palestinian children to receive medical treatment in Canada.” The tweet by Trudeau on August 3, 2014 remains a salient indication of western disinterested policies.
Then, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper prohibited the entry of Palestinian youngsters and their parents. A cowardly small man who had taken grip of the power for eight year buries the Heal 100 Kids initiative.
A year later, Trudeau was elected with a strong majority into office. Israel killed and injured many civilians in Palestine three years later. In a commentary published that horrible summer, Dr Abuelaish implored Trudeau, as prime minister, to honor his pledge eventually.
Trudeau, like Harper, declined, demonstrating that his earlier tweets endorsing Heal 100 Kids were merely a cheap publicity gimmick rather than an expression of genuine belief.
